Massive an' large, brand new shiny sealed stock has just arrived from Wakeditown Records of the equally massive an' large Ride The Samples vinyl album from Ambassa & Nichola Richards, an Italian and London link up that's simply blown us away. Here they recreate classic Soul tracks that have been used famously in Hip Hop tracks, and switched up the style into a Reggae format with live drums and instrumentation onboard too. It's truly outstanding what they've created here and we're very happy to have have scooped up some copies to sell. Check out the promo video below which will explain more about the album's making and its creators, and then check the promo mix I did for the label too. Bonafide!
Tomorrow, Saturday, you'll find me selecting riddims for Headsessions Soundsystem at The Sobar in Southampton, as we string up the sound and invite London's Real Roots Soundsystem down for the ride too. An all day affair kicking off at 2pm the Caribbean Carnival Garden Party also has Maka Foundation taking over after 10pm indoors, plus a whol'eap more. If you're on the South Coast, come vibe with us!
A strictly 7" selection for the whole two hours, DUB CHRONICLES #83 recorded live last night. Digital Dancehall, Roots and Future Dubwise Pressure, all up in the mix. Enjoy one an' all! Nuff respek for pressing play.
