Banana Klan have kindly dropped by with some test press 7"s of two forthcoming releases in January, first up is a dope uptempo number from Jimmy Screech entitled ‘Now’, usual stylings as with the previous 7”s here from Mr Screech, straight up conscious and hard spitting lyrics over ill boom bap. Flipping it over and a Reggae toasted affair comes out of the bass bins produced by Lotek, featuring and emcee named Echo Bine on a track entitled ‘War Is Ugly’, nuff said. The second 7” to come will be from newcomers Lean Cartel, a killer double sider with humerous lyrics aimed strictly at the wackness out there right now, sampling a well known reggae classic and named ‘Stick By Me’. The flip is ‘Hudda Budda MC’s’, and there’s way too many of them about, I agree with the Lean Cartel. I’ll leave ya wondering on that one till it drops folkz. Pure fire from Roots Manuva's Banana Klan to come once again, these limited 7”s are seriously doing damage with each release... (DISORDA)

This comes with a remix from Seanie T & Drew Horley (Drew worked on a lot of Ty’s recent material for those not knowing), and also a reggae spliced remix from the man like Skitz. Just watch for the album my friends, dropping in March next year, pure burner... We also have the collective known as Wordsworth Surgery, otherwise known as producer Sir Beans OBE, and emcee’s Rola, Conrad Watts & Clarity. Following on from Beans’s last EP for Down & Out Records this EP rocks in the same vein, straight up rolling drums and dope spittage from all involved, been getting a lot of airplay on the Suspect Packages Radio Show this one. A splendid track right here with both Ed and Cons combining so well, Shameless is also found on this joint back to back with Conspicuous too, don’t front. We’ve also just checked out a very rough sample of the forthcoming Evil Ed & Conspicuous album ‘The Get Together’ due for a Summer 2006 release, teamed up with the pair will be Sir Smurf ‘Lil, Grimlok, Ricochet, Jehst, Apollo, Mudmowth, Doc Brown, Seanie T, Konny Kon & Willo outta the UK & Shabaam Sadeeq, Stronghold and (possibly) Killah Preist outta NY. From what I’ve heard today, about four tracks and some instrumentals, you won’t be needing anything else when this drops, with Evil Ed on the production you know it’s gonna be a solid project, ya heard it first right here... Also in today is a killer DJ Format remix EP from his latest album, featuring tracks from the album remixed by Fingathing, Little Barrie, Nostalgia 77 and more, plus a brand new shizzle featuring D-Sisive found on our soundbite... A solid debut vinyl right here with guests Junior Disprol & Humurak D Gritty joining him and connecting the dots to make the package complete... As with Jabba Tha Kut’s latest 12”, joining him for verbal gymnastics is Dubbledge on the killer boom bap joint ‘Don’t Interrupt’, Jabba pulls out the punches and produces a dope beat for Dubbledge to ride right here. As we hinted two weeks ago Mr Harry Love has some solid material to come to ya via Medication Records next year, having kick started his label with the now classic ‘Surprize’ b/w ‘Live From London’ 12” with Verb T, Yungun & Mystro, the label will make a return next month with a white label from Ransom Badbones. This will be a double sided remake of Group Home’s ‘The Realness’ b/w Harry’s re-working of Slick Ricks ‘Children’s Story’ both re-vocalled with Badbones on top form, spitting pure fire as only he does. If your unsure who Ransom Badbones is then check for Taskforce’s ‘MFTC’ series as he cropped up there a few times, and also on the Taskforce ‘Life Before Instructions’ 12” via Rehab Records too, either way, he’s proper hungry on the mic, and only in his early 20’s. This 12” will be followed by a Harry Love presents Ransom Badbones mix tape and limited vinyl EP around Febuary time, a Harry Love compilation CD in April entitled ‘So Far So Good’ featuring his previous smash productions over the years, another Harry Love and Badbones 12” around May/June time and an LP later in the year. All this material to come is ill my friends, Harry smashes it on the boards and Badbones just kills it on every track, watch for it yo... You’ll also be pleased to here that he’s also teamed up with Verb T for an album which again comes up trumps from what I’ve heard so far, this should be dropping via Silent Soundz around March time, jeah!... We have a 2 track 12” entitled ‘Microphone Phenomenal’ b/w ‘That’s A Good Look’ by Dom G, previously of Psychic Phenomena on Dom Recordings. On ‘Microphone Phenomenal’, Dom has teamed up with South London super producer Keith Lawrence to create a jazzy cut, not in Keith’s usual style but still hot none the less. The B-side has G collabing with Chris Smoove on a double time cut spitting guidelines to yoots on what isn’t and what is a good look... Secondly we have my Bob Saltine buddy The Last Skeptik’s first 12” ‘Prior To The Present’ feat.Sway, and ‘Wordsearch’ feat.Squared back in stock, along with a signed knitted sweater by the man himself Skeppo aka Thermostat G (jokes). If you missed it the first time, the cut is on Sway’s ‘This Is My Promo Vol.1’, which co-incidentally we have found a random last copy of alongside a copy of Vol.2. So if you copped either of these the first time round, want the other volume but don’t want to buy the whole set again, buy now while their still here! (BUTCHA)

Juice brings hot drums and jazzy latin samples (explosion noise), while T brings skills in that cocky laid back steez that you peeps know him for. The EP is nice, so don’t let the cover fool you, plus be on the lookout for the forthcoming Verb T albums with Harry Love & The Last Skeptik on Silent Soundz. Yes yes Mr.T has been a busy chap indeed (DAAMNN!!)... Secondly we have a 3 track white label by Sir-Plus straight out of St.Pauls, Bristol on Full Cycle. Upfront and funky fresh, the brand new Ghost 12” from Breakin Bread hits our store today, this London based producer has received some serious props for his last two EP’s and both have sold well throughout the world. This new release is no exception, with it's ill cover design already it makes you pick it up. A solid four tracks are on offer with the ‘The Payoff’ being a classic, a real feel good track with Asaviour & Verb T trading bars over a super horn lead break, this track has had constant rotation on the Suspect Packages Radio Show over the last month, loving it. Also enclosed on this 12” is Detroit emcee Finale lined up with flute rockin Biscuit for the killer ‘Alien Invasion’, Kashmere & Severe feature on ‘The Plan (Re-edit)’ originally found on our ‘UK Hustlerz The Return’ CD version, found here on wax for the first time. And if that ain’t enough check the remix to ‘Flip It’ from Kashmere & DPF. Making this one a no brainer, peep and keep, watch for the album ‘Seldom Seen Often Heard’ coming next year ya hear... We also have an upfront release on Baby J’s album ‘F.T.P.’ now in stock, this CD and double vinyl release comes correct from the hard working Derby rocking beat maker. Once again a real feel good release with some proper solid and soulful production throughout. The album has a huge guest list on board ranging from Skinnyman, Blade, Rukus, Klashnekoff & Skeme, to U.S. counterparts Dead Prez, Shabazz The Disciple & A-Alikes. Baby J has seriously got his game on lock right now, with the ‘Let It Go’ single currently doing the rounds and going very well, as is Blade’s ‘Mumps’ track, (also found on Blade’s forthcoming album), and the Skinnyman ‘None Of Them’ track also due for a 12” release in a couple of weeks these tracks and more make for one killer line up. ‘F.T.P.’, ‘Fuck The Police’, ‘Free The People’, ‘Fancy Tight Pants’, ‘Foxy Tall Ponies’, ‘Funky Thin Potatoes’? Sensory Overload Records bring us the third 19 track instalment of Lowkey’s ‘Key To The Game’ series, stacked with plenty of goodies to overload your senses with. Poisonous Poets are definitely in effect on this CD, as Doc Brown, Reveal, Tony D, Therapist & Stylah are the only features with the exception of Spellz and Simone. The beats are by the likes of Poisonous’ DJ Snips, Nutty P, Caramac, Sivey, DJ Tactick, Shears, Q-Tones & Kelakovski who supplies a dripping hot banger of an intro. Some of the stand out joints on Volume 3 are ‘Check Up’, which is an amusing story about a trip to the sexual health clinic featuring Tony D. ‘Average’, which is a Poisonous collab featuring Tony D, Stylah & Therapist with Snips on the boom boom pads also known as the beats. And ‘Let Me Live’, where Lowkey addresses the recent London bombings and getting harassed as a result of the racial stereo typing, be on the look out for this on wax as this is the B-side to the forthcoming 12” (this should be in stock within the next 2 weeks). Also check for the forthcoming A side to the single ‘London’, which is produced by DJ B Roc, who is an American producer who has done work for Diplomats’ JR Writer, Krumbsnatcha and more... The Main Rock boys have 2 new releases today, the first being a 4 track 12” by producer Mr.Dark featuring MCs Jid Sames & Skeptic. The 12” features a lot of moody bass line heavy beats complemented by vivid depressing images painted by the Jid & Skep, ‘Dust Angels’ being our favourite as it features a banging combination of references to drugs and good music. Overall a pretty nice little EP, if you’re not into the lyrics go cop it for the dark razor sharp beats... Secondly we have a CD EP by Undercurrent, which is a group made up of Baron Samedi, who you will remember from his previous EP on Main Rock and the deep voiced Lixx The Warrior. The CD is entitled ‘Pirate Radio’ and is 6 tracks deep and features a strong under lying theme of bearded men who spend their time with parrots sailing the seven seas. Overall the beats are quirky and the rhymes are punchy as we have come to expect from Mr.Samedi. I have to admit I would love to hear these tracks over some better beats but the lyrics do definately make the joints. Aaaawwrrr (or insert standard pirate noise), keep your eyes peeled from the crows nest for more pugwash action from Baron on Main Rock as his album is completed and will be dropping early next year... Lastly to save you lot from thinking your reading an essay, we have Joey Brains & Billy Brimstone’s Low Life classic ‘Riviera Hustle’ back in stock on 12” so go cop... (BUTCHOS BARAKAS)

"They warring outside, dying outside, Hackney homicide, where you really don’t wanna be!", it sticks in your head for days, his unique mix of street ministry and psychedelic wordplay is so on point. Coupled with Jehst’s bass bin blowin banger the reality of Smurf’s rhymes really do paint a vivid picture of this certain London sector. The flip is a funkdafied finger-popper that’ll keep heads nodding for years to come, and yet again Smurf delivers a killer set of lyrics detailing some nocturnal mischief in the metropolis. DJ Mentat is still busy getting his debut album sorted for a New Year release, kicking this off will be a 12” from the album next month featuring the Duurty Goodz track ‘What’s Happenin’ which comes in three remix forms, you know Mentat’s the man on the production tip, so expect the goodness. He’s also lending his golden touch to a debut release from female London emcee Tor next month, on the 7th of November a killer track entitled ‘Strivin’ will drop on the new International Rude Bwoy imprint. It also features Seanie T on the hook and also a remix from Mentat, pure niceness from this young femcee, watch for it... Another fresh 12” to look for which I don’t think we’ve mentioned is coming from Jabba Tha Kut and his new label Cut Above Records. We have 2 new pieces of steamy audio methadone for you hip hop addicts to get your fix of… Following on from Illustrate’s ‘Bedroom Production EP’ on Headcount records & his feature on Disorda’s ‘UK Hustlerz The Return’ compilation earlier this year, Genesis Elijah & The Answer present his ‘Get The Picture’ Mixtape. This is a collection of unreleased joints from 2003-2005, over self produced beats with a helping hand from his Spanish guitar master Marco and features the likes of Phi-Life Cypher’s Si-Philly and newcomer Test. ‘Get The Picture’ isn’t really a mixtape in the traditional sense, but is a CD more in the style of Kay Slay & DJ Clue, which has become fashionable in recent years. This funky mofo is 22 tracks deep and contains a lot of hot lyrics and beats, thrown in the mix with commentary from Big Daddy Gen’s and Answer’s rewinds, securing Illustrate as a definite one to watch next year!... Secondly we have a 8 track EP from Giacomo entitled ‘Building’ on Canteen Records, home of Bias and last year’s Lewis Parker & Yungun 12”. Out of the 8 tracks, 7 are instrumental and 1 features Sam Sure, who some of you might remember from the Sam Sure & Giacomo 12” that came out not too long ago. The beats are smoked out and very relaxing bringing that jazzy flava back, and would be suitable from any of your favourite MCs to rap over fo’ sho’(take my word for it I am a producer and hardly like anyone else’s beats!). Not only that but the cover is fat too and reps the cubist’s to the fullest dropping some 60/70s funky art steez in effect like yikes! Anyways pimps and pimpettes, ‘Building’ is dope for rappers looking for instrumentals to freestyle to and producers to step they game up to!... (BUTCHSKI)

Dr.Syntax also crops up on the latest ‘Frauds’ EP from Carbon Imprints and the Steady Diggin Workshop crew, a solid 3 tracker with the usual high grade quality of loud drums and production from the diggin clan accompanied by Syntax’s ill flows, defiantly one to watch people, he’s been steadily digging his way through the workshop of MC’s recently (see what I did there), eh hem, right... Next up is the CD single of the recent Baby J produced heater from Derby based Rukus, the remix to ‘Let It Go’ which features Klashnekoff, Ty & Yogi, we’ve had the 12” for a few weeks now so those wanting the CD version which also houses the extra tracks can now grab that... Also on the CD flex, a brand new mix from DJ Skully & DJ IQ ‘Class Is In Session’ is now in stock, a quality mix from two of the UK’s best spinners. First up will be Ghost’s third release for the dirty beat breakin hip hop label, his four track EP which features the extreamly heavy new joint ‘The Pay Off’ with Verb T & Asaviour, is an absolute corker! No messing, a proper feel good track every time I play it out and on the radio, brings a smile to my face whatever mood I’m in and I’m sure it will for you lot too. Elsewhere there’s the re-edit of ‘The Plan’ with Kashmere & Severe, again, niceness, found on our CD version of ‘UK Hustlerz The Return’ album, can’t front people. And Detroit’s emcee Finale who’s worked with J-Dilla amongst others laces ‘Alien Invasion’ superbly, a true banger yet again, aaand if that’s not enough ‘Flip It’ with Kashmere & DPF gets a remix too! Hot diggedy damn fine Hip Hop and a dope cover to, this 12" is coming your way at the start of November, however two weeks earlier it will be with us so make sure you hold onto your sheckles for this slice of wax. You can check out some sneaky sound bites on the www.breakinbread.org website peepsicles. Ghost’s debut album ‘Seldom Seen Often Heard’ which houses ‘The Pay Off’ and ‘Alien Invasion’ is also set to drop around Feb/March 2006, I’ve been privileged to hear it already and I must say this is a must have, Ghost has seriously cooked up some gems for this release and has obviously been hold up in his haunted house for a great deal of time to create this album. Aswell as the above it also features guest appearances from Abstract Rude, Lowkey, Mudmowth & Dubbledge... And finally in December will be a 7” from Color Climax, the second for Breakin Bread from the live funk crew, who also have production from ex-Unanimous Decision member Paul T. Back on the block is an out and out banger from Cel One, picking up where he left off with his crew Gutter Snypes back in ’94, straight up spittin’ out the opposition, pure lyricism style and fashion. If you don’t know, get to know. The heavy b-line and synth action of ‘Whachyamindsay?’ is a hard hitting return from this MC with production from another original member of Gutter Snypes, the one like Primecuts outta the Scratch Perverts. Expect a new sound from what your used to if you copped the ‘Trials Of Life’ EP back in the day, this record has since gone onto now legendary status, so let’s hope the welcome return from this lyrical powerhouse sets the record straight yet again. The flipside ‘Code Red’, which is a lesser paced yet true neck breaker of a track, pure boom bap as it should be, is also produced by Primecuts. And also featured for a lyrical one on one, is Cel One’s old sparing partner Sniper, back to back lyrical juice over a heavy arsenal of Primecuts production. Expect more to come in the New Year from Cel One, including a CD only release of the ‘Trials Of Life’ EP originally found on Liberty Grooves Records, including some un-released gems and the like. We have a brand new 12” from The Good Samaritan Project, which features 2 different joints, the A-side entitled ‘Revolution’, where 57th Dynasty’s MC Paradise & producer The Baptist aka Charlie Parker are joined by singer extraordinaire Black-Butterfly, who brings a bucket full of soul to a mellow beat securing it as the hotter of the 2 triznacks. The other joint ‘Up2Us’, features american MCs I-Music, Lil Sash & Rob Swift (no relation to the Executioners) and sheds positive light on the fact that it’s up to us to make the future a bright one for the generations to come. Also big up to Roots Manuva and Blak Twang in the category too, let’s hope the Mofo’s (oops, sorry Mobo’s) keep the recognition of our Hip Hop artists present in future awards and help the exposure along more, too much sleeping has been done for far too long... An extra piece of news for ya today on the Kemet Entertainment tip again, they are currently working with Mud Family affiliate Mr Ti2bs to release his debut album in the new year. The material is well under way in the recording process and you can expect some interesting collaborations from what I’ve been told, a couple of 12” releases should drop around February and April time, with the album to follow in the months after. Ti2bs is currently supporting Rodney P on his shows around the country so catch him if ya can, in the meantime we’ve also just taken in some fresh stock of Mr Ti2bs’s ‘From My Manor To Your Manor Part 2’ compilation CD, blap!... After a recent step back from releases over the last few months, Kemet Entertainment have been busy preparing for two fresh nuggets. The label responsible for some the UK’s most in demand tunes over the last few years from Klashnekoff, Kyza, Suparnovar & Arms Length, and also the ‘Lost City’ mix CD, will be dropping a new 12” from London’s Wan-Cee. Two equally splendid tracks, 'Remembrance' produced by the one like Fusion, a beautiful piece both lyrically and production wise, will be backed with the smokin uptempo lick of ‘Make Sum Noise’ produced by Da 4orce. The second release, hopefully around November time too, will be the second volume to the ‘Lost City’ mix CD series, more news to follow on this gem as it’s finalised... Also letting ya know that the Steady Diggin Workshop’s ‘Frauds’ EP with Dr Syntax on the vocals, due for release this month, has gone back a month to October the 17th, a solid EP on Carbon Imprints to come this one... Rodney P gets busy with some of our Australian counterparts, Party Starters to be exact. Here we have some very limited amounts of the uptempo floor shaker ‘It Goes’ b/w ‘Hum On These’. Party Starters are the combination of two of Australia’s premier hip hop crews, Mnemonic Ascent and Koolism, the group is made up of rappers Hau, Raph and Bva alongside DJ’s Danielson and Ransom. ‘It Goes’ features the vocal talents of our very own UK top dog Rodney P, and is produced by Dave Atkins (Resin Dogs) and also features a remix by DJ Ransom. The flipside ‘Hum On These’ finds the Party Starters breaking it down double time. As we said limited amounts of this 12” have just made there way to us from Down Unda so check it sharpish, a top place to start on the Australian scene, watch for more... Also in stock today is the first release from Sheffield’s Nox Records, and the Young Offenders crew with their CD single ‘Get Mad’ and ‘Rude On This Game’. Emcee wise on this release you’ve got the spitters Captain, Young Black, Murder One, Lyric, Kastro, Seven, Undakuva, Jigga & Sandman. Wuttup party people? We’ve got the all new Breakin Bread 7” into us two weeks early, dropping from the original b-boy that is Ill Boogs, outta the Sin Cru & Born 2 Rock crews, is the fantastic ‘Gypsy Rock’ b/w the equally top rockin ‘tastic ‘The Grump’. Showcasing Ill Boogs as a top class producer and also a top class floor mover is the order of the day here, the a-side of ‘Gypsy Rock’ comes all guns blazin on the instrumental block rocker b-boy tip, a definite crowd shaker too. Whilst ‘The Grump’ comes at a slower pace, however still one of the best instrumental tunes to drop for a while, a sure fire release to keep the floor alive yet again from the Breakin Bread label... We also have Sway’s first release for All City Records, a remix of ‘Up Your Speed’ featuring Skinnyman, Pyrelli, Bigz and Grime dudes Bruza & Triple Threat, this is backed with ‘Flo Fashion’ which ya should all know by now, and the original to ‘Up Your Speed’ is also featured on this 12". Also coming to us very soon, hopefully in the next two weeks due to delays with the artwork, will be the official double CD pack of his ‘This Is My Promo Vols.1 & 2’ series... We have DJ Nappa of Phi Life Cypher & Inja of the Delegates’ banging new 2 track 12” ‘Supernang’ b/w ‘From The Soul’. ‘Supernang’ is a rowdy organ grinding monster, where Inja drops high powered hollow-tip flows aimed directly to injure ya dome pieces. The flip-side ‘From The Soul’ is an up tempo banger a la Premo, that you might imagine Life on. But don’t fear Inja comes to murk it again, showing that he can come with plenty joints for club DJs to drop 2. The DJ Nappa & Inja album ‘Wide Open’ will be available as of November this year and I’m sure will deserve my patented certified gangsta stamp. We have the all new Blade 12” produced by Baby J up on the site today with 2 hot jiznoints ‘Mumps’ b/w ’Love Twins’, both lifted off the forthcoming Baby J & Blade album. The a-side ‘Mumps’, has Baby J ripping an up tempo b-boyalicious Bob James break for Blade to drop breeze block flows to, the sample may be familiar to those of you that dig as the same song features a number of ill loops. The flipside is less of a banger, but still a certified heater, where J shows off his own brand of gangster stamps and supplies Blizzade with a pitched up soul beat, where the man himself comes with a gritty love letter to a woman who he has done wrong, don’t be alarmed tho kids there is a happy ending to the story. Be sure to peep the video on Channel U and also be on the look out for a heap load more Baby J material coming soon. ‘Let It Go (Remix)’ which features Rukus, Ty & Klashnekoff is getting mad rotation at the moment on the big radio stations as you lot well know. And a 12” with Mpho Skeef on All City will also be available next month, both of these tracks will be making their way onto his album. The LP will be coming out next month and features everyone from the likes of Skinnyman & Skeme to Dead Prez & Shabazz The Disciple plus many more sick mcs. Easy peepholes! Just a likkl piece of new ladies and gentlemen... Danny Breaks has a new 12” out right about now on Alphabet Zoo Records, ‘The Outer Dimension’ EP is killer, 6 instrumental joints feature with Mr Breaks excelling himself once again with the solid production and cuts onboard for this final EP in the series. Some bassline heavy action is present as with his last outing in the forms of tracks ‘The Octopus’ and ‘Attack Of The Beatzoids’, and ‘Def By A Thousand Kutz’ is exactly that, ‘Hey Boo Boo!’ finalises the release and this sci-fi journey into Hip Hop. We currently have him on the case trying to track down some copies for us to stock for ya’z, more information coming on this if he’s successful in his mission… On another instrumental Hip Hop release tip, well, kind of, is a forthcoming EP from Second To None Records and The Waxbuzzard meets Jabba Tha Kut. Fugazi Rum are back with a 14 track self titled CD, where Mossman & the boys take a new direction, bringing live instruments and blues-rock style vocals to the table. The CD is well produced and is musically very advanced, Rev Benjamin J Smith drops some ill out singing reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix come Jim Morisson. While Moss brings the rowdyness over Huss’ drum programming, Kope also lends a helping hand on ‘Voodoo Woman’, which is my personal favourite joint on the CD. Overall we here at Suspects are feeling the new direction they have taken and advise you lot to peep this out if your into some different ish. Also be on the lookout for Mossman’s material with Chemo & Syanyde of Illegal Aid, which should drop in a hot minute... And now for something completely different! Sup Wiggys! We’ve got a new CD from the Associated Minds label and Cardiff based group The Breaknecks entitled ‘Music For Bachelors’, the crew consists of the bachelor MC Ralph Rip Shit and funky bachelor producer Harry Macadam. First of all I’d like to just mention the cover, where the 2 are dressed as bachelors on a wet beach old school stylee. Funky is the production too and a few giggles are also dropped lyrically. However as in life things aren’t always funny, Ralph does get down to some serious lyricism on the banger ‘Tradition’ where he is joined by Possessed & The Colony’s Grimlok who are the only guest features on the EP. Conspicuous drops a fresh beat off on ‘The Suave One’, on which Rip Shit shouts out all the ‘mans’ who have skillz. A lot of you might recognize Harry Macadam’s name from Mudmowth’s ‘Just To Get The Name Known EP’, which he produced. A nice little debut from these guys, and if you want a laff anyway just buy it for the cover... Also we now have special edition copies of Lowkey's 'Key To The Game Vol.2' CD, which features 4 extra hot new jiznoints. Yes my friends, for those who’ve read my ramblings in the new Big Smoke magazine you’d have already heard the news that Cel One (Gutter Snypes) and Primecuts (Scratch Perverts) will be making a return to the scene next month with a fresh 12” on their new record label and clothing line Dog London. After stamping their mark on the scene in ’94 with the now classic ‘Trials Of Life’ EP released via Liberty Grooves, the return for emcee Cel One will bring a smile to many faces, and teamed up with fellow Gutter Snype and Scratch Perv Primecuts they’ve concocted a banger of a 12” due to drop on October 3rd. Two tracks will feature, ‘Whachyamindsay?’ which bumps out hard with a blinding bass line, and synth action from Primecuts, coupled with Cel’s lyrically driven onslaught. And ‘Code Red’ which brings back another original Gutter emcee Sniper trading back to back verse action with Cel over a head snapper from Primecuts once again. As mentioned this is just the start, watch for this 12” and more releases that will follow, we’ve known about this for a while but wanted to keep it under wraps until the shit was ready to hit the fan. And now it is, from new record label Dog London, which also houses a fresh new clothing line too, go check out the newly launched www.doglondon.co.uk for more information on all this ish nish peepz... Gyeehhh boyeeeee! We have the new CD only album from Conspicuous The Coroner entitled ‘Backgammon’. Following his well received 12”s that dropped recently the album is a definite heavy walkman listen, and takes it back to the essence with heavy beats and rhymes, musically a very nice piece of work indeed yawl. Seanie T, Shameless, soul crooners Shaun Escoffery and Cal-L, fellow Colony members Grimlok, Sir Smurf Little, Willo-The-Wisp, Dirty Kitchen & Ophkea all feature on the vocal side of things. Beat wise Evil Ed, Jehst, Ghost, Apollo, DJ Dise, Propaganda & Conspicuous himself bring fire to the CD. The album is pretty hot overall, two of the tracks that stand out being ‘Art Of Depression’ feat.Grimlok, where Grim and Cons spit raw emotion over a banger of a soul beat. And ‘Write A Song For Me’, which is a bad concept track shouting out legends of music over a deep Evil Ed beat, Shameless joins Conspic spitting back to back showing that they’re on their way to the top of the game. Also for all you Colony fans, be on the look out for fellow Colonist Sir Smurf Little’s forthcoming album on YNR. He will be helped along by the likes of Jehst, LG and Conspic on production so that should be a good joint to look out for too, along wih his new 12” ‘Outside’ b/w ‘City Night Life’ both produced by Jehst coming next month... Having done some serious damage on the radio and dancefloor with his last 7”, Styly gets busy with his and the emcee’s complement the production well on this latest outing, both the tracks are dope making it difficult to decide which track to go with on the sound bite for ya, but we've gone for the Midnyte joint, cop it... We also have two CDs from Norwich based Chrome outta Def Tex ‘Til The Very Last Drop’, and DPF linked up with producer Gumbo-Ya Ya with ‘The DPF And Gumbo Show’. Chrome’s is a collection of beats and pieces from past and present recording sessions, remixes and the like, all recorded on a simple set up of a 4 track and Akai s1000 & Atari st. Amongst the collection is the original version of ‘Fallin’ which was found on the Def Tex ‘Freaks’ EP from last year, anywayz, check out and enjoy the shiny metal man til the very last drop... Gumbo & DPF’s is also a collection of un-released material laced onto CD, also lined up with some of the tracks from DPF’s ‘Mental Floss’ EP that Gumbo produced such as ‘Yadda Yadda’ and ‘Last Man Dead’, available now on Area Six Records outta money making Norwich... And just into us, a little late but in time for today which is good, is the latest outing from Gumbo-Ya Ya and DPF on vinyl. It’s the first release for Gumbo’s Humble Monkey Recordings label and an EP entitled ‘Life In The Making’, two hefty vocal tracks and three instrumentals feature all dropping on point, and if i’m honest I think this one sounds much better than the recent ‘Still Flossin’ EP from DPF, much more solid and hard hittin’... Dynamite complements the riddim by dropping ragga lyrics in his own trademark style. ‘Piece Of The Pie’ sees Demolition Man showing off dancehall flows over loops from The Upsetters’ classic ‘Jungle Lion’, which a lot of you will recognize from various other hip hop tracks... Nextmen’s other offering is picture cover copies of ‘Spin It Round’ feat. Dynamite MC b/w ‘Average Joe’ ft. Firstly Son Records return with a new 4 track DPF EP entitled ‘Still Flossin’, where DPF flosses his usual zany wordplay over some playful beats. Ezra, Tom-Tom & Mancini also check in for a minty fresh posse cut entitled ‘Come On’, throwing around flows and words effortlessly. Overall a nice piece of floss for you nutters to sink your teeth into, peep it out and see what you think!!... Secondly I’m a tell you about 2 releases from The Shakti’s camp, the first being a brand new 2 track 12” from The Shakti entitled ‘Sellin’ A Weed’ b/w ‘Poor Me’. These crazy Liverpudlians drop an amusing gem on ‘Poor Me’ about being bruk. ‘Sellin’ a Weed’ however is our favourite joint on the 12”, as they drop yet another funny tune but this time about selling weed. The other release ‘Up The Wizards Sleeve’ is a double LP & CD by MC Philly Whizz & DJ Rasp who are 2 of the members of the Shakti. The album follows along the same lines as The Shakti’s stuff and features collabs with Filthy Rich (formerly of Pedigree Chumps) and Ashlar The Schizo of The Shakti. With tunes entitled ‘Mams Yer Dad’ and ‘Westwood! Don’t Jiggy Me Tape’ you can imagine listeners will be instore for some hardcore sillyness. The production is funky and very silly at times but serves its pisstaking purpose. There are 2 or 3 serious tunes on this, but in general if your in need of a laff and cop them 2 records... Bristols finest The Numskullz follow up the ‘Self Construction’ posse cut with the first in ‘The Construction Series’ EPs, in the same style as the last 12” they feature the elite of the Bristol scene, and will be bringing more through with future releases. Here Gee Swift, Truck, Rola, Retna, Project Cee, Marshy & Clarity all rep on point over the 6 tracks on offer, with heavy production coming from The Numskullz and Sir Beans OBE, tight stuff, proper tings. Looking forward to more from the Ruztik label... We also have the welcome return of Insane Recordings and producer Insane Macbeth, having previously released 12”s from Kinetic Effect back in the day this return for the production powerhouse brings back The Icepick to the scene, who in turn is yet another old skool legend. Having featured on the classic Music Of Life recording ‘Burial Proceedings In The Course Of Three Knights’, alongside Shaka Shazzam & Huntkillbury Finn back in 1990, his two 12”s on Backbone Recordings in 1997 and 98, and later in 1999 with an EP for Ruf Beats, he cemented himself as one hard hitting lyricist with a powerful punch not to be fu#ked with. The 12” now seeing the light of day ‘True Heart’, on the resurrected Insane Recordings was originally recorded in 2001, and initially found on the un-released Insane Macbeth LP. Here the stand out track from that LP gets a release, alongside a re-working with different vocals. If you’re a collector then there’s also a swanky red vinyl edition of the release, nice one. Watch for some fresh material to come in a few months from Insane Mabeth too... (DISORDA)

The LP is more on the Soul flex however this 12” will feature the Hip Hop cuts off the LP from Braintax ‘Let’s Go Away’, Mystro ‘Heat’ and KRS One with ‘My Thing’, truss me on this, big tings, these tracks are huge, and indeed the LP as a whole. Having produced for the likes of Jamelia, Beverley Knight, Terri Walker, Blade, Beta Band, Doc Brown, Rodney P, Estelle, Mary J Blige, D’Angelo, Mystro and many more in the past you know he’s good with his, watch for it ya hear, remember where you heard it first... DJ Thor joins Mr Shiver from the Unsung Heroes for a fat new mix CD and Nottingham’s Dealmaker Records treat us to 2 hot releases today. The first is a CD by Lost Project and the second is a 12” by Sophie Johnson-Hill, who some of you may remember from the Out Da Ville 12”s... ‘Lucky Dip Bargain Breaks’ is the name of the new mix CD by DJ Thor & Mr Shiver which features a fat selection of breaks from all genres, some that you may recognise and some that you may not. The CD is packed out with shout outs and has both DJs showing off their skillz and record collections, which any producer will no doubt be jealous of. It’s a nice mix to chill out and smoke some sticky dank to, drugs are bad tho remember that!... Lost Project’s ‘Next Level Project’ is a 9 track EP showcasing this 5 man hip-hop collective, comprising of producer Frenic and MCs EJC, S.O. Mac, MC Killa and Poorly Fluent, who comes courtesy of Headcount Records. The vibe of the EP is dark, with moody beats and MCs who mostly come with ill flows and nice lyrics, you can tell Lost Project are all quite young, yet talented individuals. Also watch for a Karizma EP dropping on vinyl from the Dealmaker camp real soon too... Sophie Johnson-Hill comes with a hot 2 track 12” showing that she is a hot lyricist as well as a wicked classically trained singer. ‘It’s A New Dawn’ has Sophie dropping a gem about the music industry, singing yet rapping and hooking up a catchy chorus that I could hear on a Roots Manuva record. ‘Bounce Your Head’ is a little more laid back with a smoky feel good vibe where Sophie drops a story in a similar style to the flip side. Both tracks have instrumentals and acapellas for all you producers to mess with, there is also a skit which is quite amusing so go peep, nice to have Sophie back on wax, Disorda and I have we’ve missed her... Even more hotness in stock right now, none other than the UK’s super mag Big Smoke makes a very welcome return to the shelves and all being well your gritty little hands too. Having served as a benchmark in journalism and design over the last 6 issues (if you include the promo edition) they truly did rep for the streets here in the UK and overseas. Well now they are back with a fanfare as big as big fanfare can be! New design, new size, new contributors, full to the brim with news, reviews, fresh articles, equally fresh photography and style to match. Cover stars include Sway and those pesky Foreign Beggars alongside a whole’eap more, check out the latest arrivals for more info on this, take a sit back and inhale the Big Smoke yo... We’ve also got a handful of Big Smoke t-shirts in stock again, as the others left the building far too sharpish and we had to beg for more... We also have in stock two very limited ‘cop dat shit or you’ll miss em’ 12"s from Klashnekoff and Kyza. Klashnekoff’s is a cheeky one sided taster for his forthcoming mix CD ‘Focus Mode’ with DJ Skully, it features two re-workings of recent reggae riddims, ‘Jamrock’ and ‘Drop Leaf’, with Klash riding both tracks in fine style. The ‘Welcome To Jamrock’ is more of a double timer whilst the Nekoff drops his ‘Son Of Niah’ lyrics over the ‘Drop Leaf’ so on point that you get that ‘butterfly in your stomach’ feeling big style, only 500 of these in existence... And on an even more of a limited flex, only 250 white labels from Pepa Recordings, is Kyza’s re-working of ‘Jamrock’ with extra production and tweaking by Caramac on ‘They Call It…’, yet again a sure fire burner right here, Caramac beefs up the original recording to great effect. Flip it over and you find the D-Lux produced ‘R.E.A.L’, which we’ve used as the sound bite for ya, yet another classic in the bag for all parties involved in this one, props, big ones at that!... Three hot new releases in stock right here, first up we have the don dada Skitz with his ‘Homegrown Vol.2’ mix CD, this can be found in the latest arrivals, or the mix tape/cd section. Go check it, exclusives galore right there, all in that Skitz style and fashion and bought to you by the new label doing damage right now, Silent Soundz... Vinyl wise we have Seanie T’s new super crew we mentioned months back, The Blacknificent Seven, and the debut 12” to drop from the forthcoming album. The crew comprises of Roots Manuva, Rodney P, Jeff3, Karl Hinds, Estelle, Skeme and of course Seanie T, dopeness up in this beeeatch! Not only do you have the original bounce/reggae fuelled mix of ‘Ere Comes The Black!’ produced by Formula, but two even better remixes from Keith Lawrence & DJ Mentat aswell, both are off the hook with Mentat’s (for us) being the killer, watch out though, the mixes are printed the wrong way round on all the artwork. If you flip it over you’ll get another banger ‘Mrs Onda’syde’ from Jeff3 and Seanie T, a humorous tale which I think you can guess the subject matter. Either way, the artists on this slab of wax are all heavy hitting recording artists in their own right, cop this, seriously. It’s not out officially till next month, but we have it now for ya... Don’t forget Seanie T’s ‘Dark Horizon Vol.2’ mix CD whilst we’re on it... And finally we have a limited white label 12” from the forthcoming LG & Biscuit album ‘Smoke Rings’, a very impressive LP to come from the Sit Tight Records producer LG and his flute rockin’ sidekick Biscuit in the coming months. Right here you have emcee Dubbledge on the track ‘Sonshine’ and female singer with a lot of soul Diamara on the equally excellent ‘Prodigal Child’, a Summer scorcher this one... And the new Undercover magazine is now in for ya... (DISORDA)

Cardiff based turntablist/production outfit Optimas Prime, comprising of members Monkey, Stagga & Touchy Muff (nice), hit you up with a new 12”. The ‘Try Before You Die’ EP has six vocal tracks of that good shit, possibly one their best shits to date in fact. It features the vocal talents of Nobsta Nuts outta The Headcase Ladz on the electro stomper ‘Venus’, reason enough to purchase this fine slab of wax. There’s also an appearance from Blaktrix on ‘Boom Or Bust’, and the opening title ‘Cops And Robbers’ alongside singing talent MLE. Elsewhere new comers H.S.G. get busy with a superb track that’s perfect for the sunshine we’re having of late on ‘Summertime Vibes’, and 4Dee and Picton get busy with ‘Shelfshock’, again yet another solid track in the bag on this Dial Up Records release, good stuff right here... On another EP tip those boys at Carbon Imprints have a fresh 12” dropping in September that I don’t think we’ve told you about, it’s entitled ‘Frauds’ and features their usual standard of tip top production with Dr Syntax holding fort on the vocal tip over three tracks, watch for it... Sup yawl! Dented bring us a hot 12” from Dubbledge, an MC with bags of personality who we here at Suspects have known about for a hot minute. ‘Smile’ has Dubbledge getting schizophrenic on our claarts over a beat that changes from a soulful happy herbal tea drinking riddim, into a dark beast of cinematic thuggery showing that there’s no need to smile all the time. On ‘Dinner 4 2’, Edge comes with lyrics for the ladies, showing a more realistic view on what he wants in a woman. Following on with the theme of inter-sex relations, ‘Bastard’ is a tune about fighting with your spouse over a rowdy piece of hot blaxploitation funk. The 12” features a flava reminiscent of Ghostface Killah, however is still unique to Dubbledge, he’s got big tings coming so keep ya eagle eyes & binoculars in hand... We also have a Blak Twang album sampler off of his recent album ‘The Rotten Club’ in the form of a limited 12”. If you don’t have the album this is worth a check as it features 4 of the illest tracks off the album and guest appearances from K9 & Hill St. Soul, it may even sway you to give it a cop... Also Sway dropped by to hook us up with more copies of his ‘This Is My Promo’ series, which will make a lot of you happy as it was in high demand and we keep selling out!... Conspicuous ‘Focussed’/’Want Me Back’ is back in stock after a re-press aswell, if you missed it first time it’s also worth a check if you’re a fan of The Colony, Shaun Escoffery & Evil Ed, it’s got a nice mellow summer vibe so peep it. Watch for the album ‘Backgammon’ dropping next month... (BUTCHY B THE HIP HOP TERRORIST)

At long last we get the all new Blufoot & First Rate albums on Scenario Records in stock... Blufoot has been honing his skills on the boards now for a fair few years and his debut album ‘The Ablution’ is a true testament to that. Finely crafted beats underlie a guest list that stands alone, making this one album to cop for sure. From Sway to Manage, Mic Assassin to Mystro, the chap’s done good, very good, be sure to make this album one you own. Also available off the album is the second 12” featuring Joker Starr & Yungun, and a limited J Star reggae remix mash up 7” to the Mic Assassin & Infinite Livez tracks... First Rate’s debut LP ‘Walky Talkyz’ comes on a more eclectic tip, however still hitting that Hip Hop steez home hard, with the tracks ranging from straight up vocal head nod Hip Hop to stripped down instrumental soundscapes and back again, this is a sure fire player. Not only can the man cut himself to shreds on the decks, but he can produce a truly solid album from start to finish. Guests include Blade, Phi Life Cypher, Killa Kela, The Procussions & more. Hot diggidy damn, a hot new release in today from Breakin Bread, the all new Natural Self (aka Keno 1) 12” featuring some hefty drum action and simply dope all round production. Not so much a straight up Hip Hop release but with tracks this hard they have to rep right here, ‘I Don’t Need This Trouble’ is a banger featuring Alice Russell that's doing damage on the dancefloor whenever it’s played right now, the instrumental is also featured alongside 3 other instrumental tracks, our other favourite being ‘Back To The City’... Incidentally we have our I.T. team busy working on the database of the site in order to bring you more sound bites of each release we have on board, coming soon(ish)... We also have Death Before Dishonour’s Street Philosopha & Ninth Letta’s mix tape ‘Stix To The City’ in stock, it’s not really a mix though so don’t be fooled. It’s more a compilation of exclusive tracks... And Glasgow based Damaged Goodz drop us their album ‘Audiobiography’, a snapshot of emcee Beejay’s colourful life up in the highlands, along with production from Steg G taking you from Edinburgh’s Wester Hailes, to Glasgow’s Castlemilk to the Highland surroundings of Fort William and back to Glasgow’s Fernhill... We’ve added this track as the sound bite as I’m sure you’ve all heard the main tune on this 12”, and the remixes stand alone by themselves making this one 12” stand out above the rest of the pack right now. Southampton’s Dark Craftsmen are back with a brand spanking new album entitled ‘No Shadow On Your Sundial’ released on Eastborn’s Dropzone Records. The crew consists of MC’s Tekneek, Coldblud and producer Cast and features 12 tracks of the darkest beats and with dirty early nineties rhyme styles, alongside guest features by Eastborn and Junior Disprol of the Dead Residents. The album definitely has a steez that Killa Instinct would be proud of, even if the vibe is much more down tempo, however one track ‘T2000’ does bring back that old Brit sound. The flipside is again another Kash & Chubby back to back burner, once again with DT's Zygote & Jazz T flippin a minimal yet chunky beat for them to ride with ease, we're so upfront on this one it's not even named yet! Pepa Records are feeling real big right about now, they’ve just secured the new single from Kyza's forthcoming album. That's right Terra Firma's General Kyza Sayso is working on an album and Pepa are the ones to bring you the first single off that album. Produced by Caramac, ‘They Call It Murda’, utilizes one of the hottest reggae samples we've heard in a while and is defiantly a tune for the summer, and indeed an excellent introduction to what looks set to be a landmark album. It’s a song much in the same vein as ‘Devil in a Dress’ where Kyza weaves an intricate tale about a drug dealer called Ricky Rankin (I don’t think it’s Manuva’s mate tho). We're not going to give too much away here, you'll have to listen to this on
